Kharcha is small enough that a person reads every message. Most things are fixed faster than a forum thread would take to answer.

What to include
A bug report with these four things usually gets fixed on the first reply. Without them it takes three.
- The email address you sign in with.
- Which app — iPhone, Android, or the web — and roughly which version.
- What you did, what happened, and what you expected instead.
- A screenshot, if there is anything to see.
If it is about a statement that will not import, send the file and name the bank. Strip or blank anything you would rather we did not see — we only need the shape of the columns, not your balances.
Common questions
An import read my statement wrong.
Nothing is saved until you commit, so the review screen is the place to fix it — correct the column mapping there, and check the date order and whether a positive amount means money in. If the file will not parse at all, send it to us with the bank name and we will add support for that layout.
I imported the same statement twice.
Kharcha hashes each file and warns you when you upload one it has already seen, and it flags rows that duplicate transactions you already have. If duplicates did land, delete the transactions — the import itself leaves nothing else behind.
I signed in with Apple and hid my email.
That works. Apple gives us a relay address, and everything we send reaches you through it. You can turn the relay off from your Apple ID settings at any time.
How do I stop the emails?
Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that works without signing in. Receipts and messages about your account are sent regardless — they are the record of something you did.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account, in the app or on the web. It removes your budgets, accounts, transactions, categories and imports. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Does Kharcha connect to my bank?
No. There is no bank login, no open banking link, and no ability to move money. It reads statements you give it, and that is deliberate.
Reporting a security problem
If you have found a way to reach data that is not yours, write to hello@merokharcha.com with “security” in the subject and we will treat it ahead of everything else.
Please do not test against other people’s accounts, and give us a chance to fix it before publishing. We will not pursue anyone who reports in good faith.
